Aural Text

Today on RRR radio here in Melbourne, I'll be joining hosts Alicia Sometimes and Jeff Sparrow on their show Aural Text to talk up the spoken word scene here in Melbourne. I'll be talking about the Victorian State Final of the 2009 Australian National Poetry Slam, and canvassing the Melbourne slam scene in general. 102.7fm on your dial, and I'll be on at around 1.30.

For more details on tomorrow's guests, check here. There'll be talkback at the tail end of it all for those mouthy listeners so inclined. Phone in and run a-literary-muck. You know you want to.

  1. I would love to hear this. I posted a reply over at the link (there), not (here) but yes (here). Oh forget it, you know what I mean :-)

  2. Will this be on the Aural text podcast?
Are you coming up to Sydney to cover the National Slam finals?

  3. Hey Carey - checked over there. Your comment must be waiting to be 'moderated'. Censoring bastards. Should come through soon.

Mark - I don't think it'll be on podcast. There's some information on the website : http://www.rrr.org.au/programs/streaming/ about 'streaming'...whatever the hell that is? I'm going to ask Alicia about it all today as I have no idea about radio... (Carey, you'd be a right help now I suspect. Wish I could teleport you over here).

  4. Well, it appears I missed your F bombs *wink*. Yep, I don't even know if my question ever got through. I mean, I saw your remark but mine said "will be posted after approval"

Oh well, I asked them if they would have an Internet feed. Too late now.

  5. Carey, I spoke to them and it's sorted out. Your comment got stuck in the moderation queue or something odd. I'm working on the answers to your questions (about time difference, podcasting etc) for my review next month. Also will try and find out if I can get audio of that section of the show to podcast or something. In any case, I'll review my own radio review soon here. I'm definately not cut out for radio. And yeah, I dropped quite a few ummm 'F' bombs and the hosts faces looked a little stricken at times :I But then I know you're not shy of cursing...I seem to remember a post on it a while back.

Oh and Mark: I was planning to be in Sydney for the finals but I've double-booked with a gig...Any chance you're going? If so, I'd be happy to post a guest review from you here & over at Overland.
