Thanks for this, Maxine. I find the layers of meaning that rise out of this image evocative. It reminds me of the inside of a room, with access to the garden and the sky, the sun and the night, all rolled into one and of course the words just jump out at me, the words that seem to me to be a play on words, both words of admiration and possibly even words of derision - kiss my art. It's terrific. Thanks.
I'm really enjoying doing these visual poems at the moment: I never quite know where they're going to take me - it's a nicely organic process. I agree that this one does seem to arouse a sense of the polarity of nature/surroundings. And yes, it is supposed to be just that little bit cheeky/challenging.
I utterly love this, Maxine. One can find so much meaning and depth in one picture, this is poetry in its rawest, purest and most beautiful form. Thank you for sharing it :)
Maxine, I love a good work out. You know, the mind is a muscle and it has to be worked, and I love a good sweat, but one day you have to tell us your interpretation of some of your visual poems. I mean, you're working me girl.
My mind is working and I'm sweating, but nothing is popping out (my muscle is not growing). I'm just left feeling stupid *smile*
Hey Carey - but it's not complicated. That's the problem: you're thinking too hard. Kiss my ar*e turns to Kiss my art (toned down a little by some gentle imagery)...You dig? :)

This is a prime example of why I enjoy your work so much.
