ReplyDeleteMaxine, it's almost 6am Monday, May 30th 2011 - here in the states. I didn't know of this news until about 10 minutes ago when I read it at another blog (up doing my morning coffee and blog thang). Then I noticed your post (still got-ya on my blogroll, even when your out having babies). But wait, I thought about you and your book, "Gil Scoot Heron On Parole" before I visited your site. Then I read your poem and thought... "My friend Maxine is so cool".
ReplyDeleteAnyway, after I read the bad news, I was sort of sad, but I am going to go to my reading room (just a little quiet place in my home) and pull out your book (autographed, I might add, thank you again)and do a little reflection.
